Commercial Director - Agriculture

We're recruiting for an established, growing business within the dairy/farming sector that is looking to appoint a Commercial Director to lead and scale its Irish operation.
This is a senior leadership role, but it is also a hands-on commercial position.
Working closely with the CEO and Head of Operations, you'll take ownership of commercial performance across Ireland, leading a small team while identifying new opportunities to increase revenue, strengthen the sales structure and drive future growth.
With a predominantly direct-to-farm model, they're looking for someone who wants to remain close to the market. You'll be just as comfortable getting out on-farm to support the team, developing new business and managing key accounts as you are analysing performance and developing commercial strategy.
The role will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing the commercial team
- Driving revenue growth and identifying new commercial opportunities
- Developing a scalable commercial and sales strategy
- Remaining hands-on with business development and key accounts
- Strengthening direct-to-farm sales and developing distribution opportunities
- Analysing KPIs, sales performance and wider commercial data
- Identifying improvements across customer interaction, operations and product innovation
- Working closely with the CEO and Head of Operations
- Representing the business at agricultural events and trade shows
What We're Looking For?
- A proven track record within sales and commercial growth
- Experience within agriculture, dairy, animal health or a closely related sector
- A good understanding of the Irish farming market and direct-to-farm sales
- A hands-on commercial approach and a willingness to remain close to customers
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- A commercially minded and analytical approach, with a strong focus on numbers and performance
- The ability to identify opportunities to increase revenue and scale a business
- Confidence engaging with everyone from farmers through to senior stakeholders
- A driven, enthusiastic and positive personality
- Strong attention to detail alongside the ability to see the bigger commercial picture
- Adaptability, resilience and the ambition to make a genuine impact
You may already be operating within commercial leadership, or you could be a high-performing sales professional ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role.

In return, you will receive a base salary of up to €75K DOE with the on-target earning potential of up to €100K - plus company car and additional benefits.
