Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: North West
Are you an RVN or Vet looking to make the move into a veterinary sales role? Or perhaps you're already working in veterinary sales and ready for a fresh challenge?
We’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager to lead growth and deliver exceptional customer support across the North West. In this role, you’ll take ownership of all sales activity within your region, foster strong relationships with clients, and represent the business with professionalism and in-depth product knowledge.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the veterinary or animal health sector, with the confidence to work independently while playing a key role within a collaborative UK-wide team.
Responsibilities:
- Drive profitable revenue growth within the assigned territory.
- Educate veterinary teams on the product portfolio by leveraging product expertise and training tools.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams and regions to share best practices.
- Execute effective sales coverage, including pre-call planning and service-level objectives.
- Manage customer segmentation and accounts within the territory.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Represent the brand at events, trade shows, seminars, and conferences, including occasional overnight stays.
- Support and implement Key Account strategies in collaboration with the Key Account team.
- Develop and execute tailored joint business plans with customers to drive mutual growth.
- Work closely with other field roles (e.g., digital, merchandising, scientific) to enhance customer support.
- Demonstrate and promote company values and culture in all interactions.
Requirements:
- Scientific qualification (A-level or BSc); a background in animal science or veterinary medicine is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in sales or account management is preferred, though not essential.
- Familiarity with the veterinary industry is highly desirable.
- An understanding of basic sales principles is beneficial.
- Experience working in veterinary-related businesses or environments is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to support territory management and sales reporting.
